It is an evergreen or succulent shrub growing with pachycaul stems and a stout, swollen basal caudex. The leaves are spirally arranged, clustered toward the tips of the shoots with long and broad stem. The flowers are tubular, long, with five petals as single with 10 to 12 as double more than 15 as triple.
